Research Analysis: Gangster/Crime Audience

Following the research of our 2 films we needed to make sure our film was in touch with an audience that is known for being keen on gangster/crime genred films. With Layer Cake and The Godfather both being 15 rated the producers obviously didn't want to cast out viewers between 15 and 18 or else an 18 rated film would definately happened. Following research with a minimum age of 15 the target audience then likely reaches 45 when the viewing figures would begin to fall to an audience of mid 60's. However Layer Cake and The Godfather are not the only films rated 15, Harvey's films Gangster Squad and Public Enemies  where also 15 rated films. While Caitlin's films Bonnie and Clyde was an 18 and Rock n' Rolla came up as an 18, highlighting the trend that for the audience we are targeting at a 15 rated film is the best certificate we would go for.
